Let’s distinguish between “what happens” and what SHOULD happen. What will happen, is that we will see a deterioration of city services including education. What SHOULD happen, is a recognition on the part of elected officials that you can’t run city like Newton on property taxes alone. We need to both expand the property tax base AND develop new sources of revenue to help fund our city.
I got a pamphlet from the city telling me the pros and cons of the over ride. The city has 65 millions in the coffers. Why do we need an over ride ?
