After a two year Covid absence, Newton’s Memorial Day is back today and its a beautiful day for it.
The parade will begin Sunday at 3 p.m. and follow its traditional route beginning in Newtonville at Newton North High School and finishing at Colleti-Magni Park in Nonantum.
Also today, we’re throwing a little impromptu party around our brand new street piano. Once again, Newton Community Pride has planted decorated street pianos around the city.
The Upper Falls piano arrived a few days ago. This afternoon (Sun May 29) from 2 PM – 3 PM, Irene Choi, one of our Upper Falls neighbors, will be playing from 2 – 3. So stop by the Upper Falls street piano at the corner of Oak & Chestnut Sts (in front of The Depot) for some music and stick around for some bocci at our neighborhood bocci court right beside it.
