The Newton Nomadic Theater has been hosting Nomad Story Slams for the last eight years.  These are nights when anyone can show up, throw their name in a hat, and tell a five minute true story connected to the the topic of the night.

Periodically I reach back in to the video archives and post a Story of the Week here on Village14.

After a long hiatus we brought back the Nomad Story Slam back last night, this time at the Allen House in West Newton.  It was a great night and wonderful to see so many old friends together after such a long Covid absence.  One of those old friends was John McDonagh who showed up unexpectedly and told a very funny story.

Inspired by that, this story of the week is John McDonagh telling a harrowing tale at last summer’s Festival of the Arts.  Thanks to Maureen Reilly-Meagher and NewTV for the video.
