It’s a good day in my neighborhood.
Bettinas Bakery just opened today, a few blocks away from my house in the former Bob’s Sub premises on Elliot St at the top of Oak St.
They are serving breakfast and lunch sandwiches and a mighty fine selection of all kinds of pastries and sweets.
I was served by Bettina herself who lives nearby in the neighborhood.
The turkey and avocado sandwich was delicious, overstuffed and on a fresh ciabatta-like roll.
Be sure to try a concha, it’s their signature pastry – sort of a brioche with a crusted cinnamon sugar top … but not too sweet, mmmmm
I’m looking forward to becoming a regular at Bettinas.
I love this place- wonderful addition to the neighborhood. Love the special weekly offerings too… soup, cake,
The actual address is 295 Elliot Street, Newton
Thanks for highlighting this new delight!
Can’t wait to check it out!
Does Bettina sell bread as well or just pastries?
Yay!!!
@Newtoner – alas, no. There didn’t see to be any bread for sale.
Do you happen to notice their hours? Would love to check it out.
Looking forward to this. Maybe tomorrow when it stops raining!
Excellent! Can’t wait to check them out.

I brought scones and muffins from Bettina’s to a dog party last week, and the humans were clamoring for more. Bettina’s Bakery is a gem and welcome addition to the neighborhood.
