A newly formed Political Action Committee (PAC) called Save Chestnut Hill issued an inflammatory statement today claiming that “Chestnut Hill is under attack by a group of politicians who want to end our traditions and eliminate our retail culture.”. The Saving Chestnut Hill web site contains numerous claims that unnamed elected officials are secretly planning to have Bloomingdales and the Apple Store evicted from the Chestnut Hill mall and replaced with Target and a Dollar Store.
After numerous inquiries about which elected officials they are talking about and what evidence they have to support these claims, the anonymous Saving Chestnut Hill spokesperson responded “private message me”.
(This was one of our 2021 April Fools stories)
You’ve been waiting months to post this, haven’t you?
While this post was made in the spirit of April Fools, rubbing salt into recent wounds carries more risk than reward.
I’m sure at some point, Mickey Rooney thought his impression in, “Breakfast at at Tiffany’s” was freaking hysterical.
Matt, that’s quite the rhetorical leap. And a very unfair reference in the context of the post, April Fools, etc.
I actually thought the various April Fools jokes were silly fun as usual.
If you are still smarting from the salt in the wound, you can certainly ban them on Village14a.
I’m sure the Chestnut Hill folks can take a little April Fools joke ;-)
Lol, that was a funny one, Jerry!
Not at all funny!!! It is a shame people had to donate money to a PAC to save traditions in this City.. Newton is a laughingstock now ,,, Lets defund the Police, take down Firefighter flags etc..
