A massive container ship has become lodged on Commonweath Ave outside Newton City Hall. The captain of the Ever Given said in an Associated Press report “the light turned yellow at Walnut and I thought I could squeak through. I guess I took my eye off the ball and never saw that slight bend in the road at Bulloughs Pond”
Newton DPW commissioner James McGonagle says “it’s a real mess. We’d like to get it out of there by this afternoon’s rush hour but that’s looking iffy at this point”
Starting a couple of days early this year, are we?
Once I was informed of its existence, I couldn’t possible not use such a wonderful tool as this
So much for my productivity for the rest of the day.
And that ship fits right in Crystal Lake. They could rent out the containers and solve the whole affordable housing thing in an instant. Close to public transportation! Restaurants!
Wonderful tool indeed. Be sure to click the “Boat isn’t to scale” box fir the most accuracy, although it doesn’t look quite as impressive.
That sounds like tomorrow’s
News.
Let’s take advantage of the situation and convert it into affordable housing!
Sorry, Jerry, that ship has sailed.
Appropriate since today is after all April Fools’ Day
I am
[second try ..]
I am
[” I am laughing out loud uncontrollably”]
Thanks!
@Mary: You am what?
It’s a shame that ships are referred to as female, because, otherwise, I would call this current conversation bullship.
(Apologies in advance…couldn’t resist).
