Well, on Saturday, December 12, you can kick back, relax, stay at home and shop your favorite local Newton shops. Beginning at 9 AM and running through 6:15 PM, shoppers can log into eight different Facebook Live events, take virtual tours of each store’s merchandise, do some serious holiday shopping, and even snag some special deals for virtual shoppers.If you’re not comfortable shopping in person, this is a perfect way to support Newton’s indie shops over the holidays. You can also explore shops that may be new to you and have the type of gratifying personal shopping experience that large online retailers don’t offer.
Shop Newton kicks off at 9 AM with Greentail Table and wraps up with a virtual visit to Newton Highlands’ Indulge! candy store at 6 PM. Throughout the day, shoppers can also virtually drop into The Paper Mouse, Artitudes, Newtonville Books, The Dressing Room, Just Next Door Cards and Gifts, and even take a loop around the new outdoor Holiday Market at Dunn Gaherins Food and Spirit. Three of the participating retailers are also featuring gifts that can be purchased as donations to

I think this is wonderful idea. All except the Facebook part. What about those of us who don’t “do” Facebook?
