Green Newton Student Group to Hold Virtual Public Meeting, Greening the Holidays, this December 6th
 
Greening the Holidays is an opportunity for us to seriously reconsider how we can celebrate the holidays in a more sustainable manner, this interactive program will feature student leaders from Newton schools and will open discussion on multiple topics of sustainability specific to the holiday season.
 
Trivia questions, tangible gift suggestions, and informative climate conversations with our youth leaders will make this an event not to be missed! Presentation topics and student leaders are listed below.
 
Food & Waste with Kaleigh Yee (NSHS ’19) and Hailey Stickler (Beaver Country Day ’22)

During a ’normal’ holiday season, how can we realistically prioritize conscious transportation choices?

What makes a gift special? What are some meaningful, environmentally conscious gift ideas?
 
Advocacy with Coral Lin (NNHS ’21) and Clara Dutton (NSHS ’21)
Why is advocacy important to maintain and prioritize during the holidays? How can one incorporate advocacy and civic action into a gift?
