This is not Newton specific, but I believe it might be of interest to businesses in our city. The Massachusetts Caregiver Coalition was established about a year ago to assess and address the needs of unpaid family caregivers across the Commonwealth. The hope was to encourage employers to join the Coalition in acknowledging family caregiving as a critical workforce opportunity and support fellow employees with their caregiving responsibilities. Among other activities, the group prepared an Employer Toolkit providing best practices for employers to support family caregivers within their workforces.
Now the Coalition is offering a free webinar on Thursday, November 19. The title is “Caring for the Caregiver – Why Employers Should Care.” Here’s the registration site.
