This documentary from Myrtle Baptist Church is well worth watching.
It covers everything from the earliest days of the black community in Newton, to the split that led to the creation of Myrtle Baptist, the evolution of ‘The Village’, the displacement caused by ‘the toll road’ AKA the Mass Pike, and the discrimination faced by those looking to relocate within Newton.

@Bryan Thank you so much for posting this. It was inspiring and sad to think about all the families whose homes were taken from them. It was also lovely to see Howard again. Newton is a better city for having Howard’s advocacy.
