Post away on any topic of your own choosing. What haven’t we been talking about that maybe we should be? What random Newton thought has crossed your mind lately?

When will NPS school admin takes a pay cut?
City Budget, New Supplemental CIP puts a halt on projects such as NECP and Lincoln-Eliot move, Water Rates voted on TONIGHT – 6% increase, Newton Public Schools weighing continued participation with EDCO. Anyone looking at Long-Range Forecast which has us moving into bad financial times pre-COVID?
Plans for kids the summer. Ideas for working parents.
Library – how will it re-open safely?
Fred,
What type of pay cuts do you propose they take? Who qualifies as school admin?
Very disappointed to read that both farmers markets are moving to Newton South. Once again the North side gets the shaft!! It’s almost a 20 minute drive from my neighborhood. I can’t imagine going this year. I’d love to support Newton but Waltham and Waterown’s markets are much more convenient to those of us on this side.
Mmq,
I guess the farmers market is drawn to the density of wallets, rather than population density
@jason
At each high school 3-5 below are over 1 mil. Yes it is accurate. Taxpayers need to standup to high salaries and no work.
1. Super.
2. Asst Supers.
3. Principals.
4. Asst Prin.
5. Deans.
6. Union president.
@Fred Knowles – Why would you say “no work”. The system today has just as many students and teachers and has just undergone a wrenching transformation from top to bottom. I’d guess that some of these administrators may have had one of the busiest months of their working careers as they moved the system to an on-line model.
I have no idea what their workload is today but no matter what it is, I’m sure it can’t be described as “no work”.
Fred,
After this is all over, would it be fair and reasonable to ask parents for their feedback on how their child’s teacher handled the remote classes
We would definitely want to know about any teachers who simply decided to zone out. Those who made an effort should have nothing to worry about..
Fred,
Who is the source that allows you to know that the aforementioned people are merely idling by and engaging in “no work?” I advise you to contact the Deans, Assistant Principals, Department Heads, and Principals at the respective high schools and state your claim.
Would love to hear people’s thoughts about houses of worship not only being allowed to open, but which ones are open and how to “reserve” a seat
Is anybody else concerned about all of the BC students returning this fall? It was in today’s Globe. It worries me!
