NewTV has just launched a new series: “At Home in Newton,” which will focus on what residents of Newton are doing while social distancing.

During this time, it is a priority of NewTV to help foster connection throughout the Newton community. We want the residents of Newton to submit to us short videos of what they have been doing while at home. Baking bread for the first time? Working on a great puzzle? Creating a family acapella group? Take a video and send it to us.

NewTV will compile the videos and edit them into episodes. Credit will be given for each video, and we’ll be sharing them on our social media, our website, and in our email blasts.

Videos can be five seconds or five minutes, or longer, though we may edit long videos for time so they can be included in an episode. People who wish to submit do not need editing skills or a fancy camera. Video taken on an IPhone works great.

To provide you with an example, the first episode of “At Home in Newton” features what the NewTV staff has been up to during social distancing. You can watch it on our Vimeo: https://vimeo.com/408902896.

There are two ways to submit:

  1. Submit through our online form, which can be found at org/athomeinnewton.
  2. Upload your video to Vimeo (if it’s larger than 100mb) and send us a link. Video must be set as available for download.

More info can be found on the NewTV website.
