I just got notice of this. It was news to me. But the word is quickly spreading around Ward 6, Precinct 2. Is it elsewhere?
“Tonight across Newton people will be coming out of their houses at 7:00 for TWO MINUTES and banging pots and pans and clapping to say thank you to our healthcare workers.”
No one in their right mind will bang pots and pans for two straights mins. Think about that for a sec. Two feet from your own ears you create unbearable noise. How about We just donate some Chipotle to Newton Wellesley? They can use the food more than the banging.
“Hey you kids GET OFF MY LAWN”
Yes, we received something this morning from a neighbor in Upper Falls about clapping at our doorway at 7 PM. Sounds like the aural ante has been raised since this morning
If the populace truly cared about health care workers, a good start would’ve been to vote yes on Question #1 in 2018. But it was easier to be bamboozled by a greedy industry’s misinformation campaign. Anyway, tonight’s ruckus will really make a difference.
While I applaud the idea here (pun intended), please know that Friday evening Shabbat services often run 6:30-7:30. Those who are virtually observing probably won’t be joining in this joyfully boisterous acknowledgement of our heroes.
That was cathartic.
Thank you Doctors, Nurses, CNA’s technicians.
French residents have been clapping at 8PM every night for the last two weeks in support of health personnel. It’s quite moving when you see and hear several apartment building residents clap at their opened windows and wave at each other.
People around where I live have been doing this for at least the last month. I’ve been working from home for the last two months and it has become my alarm to stop working for the day.
