1) Go to Paddy’s
2) Go to Cabot’s
(I know that they’re doing takeout, but I love eating in at both of those places)
3) Go to the Y
I second going to Cabot’s. When I first toured my apartment before ultimately moving here in 2009 I took their ice cream menu home and upon signing the lease joked the goal was to sit at their counter and try every single one of their flavors and cross it off the list. I think I’ll do just that….
But not until also joining the Heartbreak Hills running club’s for both the Thursday evening hill repeats and Saturday morning runs.
1) I really, really miss my gym, Lifetime. First stop.
2) Pizza and a drink at the bar at Echo Bridge
3) Shabbat Alive at Temple Emanuel
Cabot’s!!!
1. Get back to work at my office on Needham Street! I miss it…
2. Ice cream at Cabots
3. Shabbat at Temple Emanuel. I’ve been “attending “ online which has been wonderful but can’t wait to be back with the community
1. Go to the library.
2. Shabbat Alive at Temple Emanuel – in person!
3. Go to the Soup Factory
4. Go get a hair cut at Viani and Clark
1) Go to Dunn Gaherin’s or O’Hara’s, sit at the bar, and buy a drink for whoever is on my right and left.
2) Wander through the Library.
3) Get a haircut.
1. Go to the gym
2. Go to the library
3. Go to Dunn-Gaherins
Not necessarily in that order.
1) Library.
2) Tango Mango.
3) Pick up litter from our streets, parks and playgrounds, which are unbearably dirty right now.
1. Hug a friend
2. Share a small plate at Buttonwood
3. Go to the gym
1. Sit at Terry Malloy’s left at Dunn Gaherins
2. Hug everyone who’ll let me
3. Throw one bit honkin’ party with way too many people
1. Sit at Terry Malloy’s right at Dunn-Gherins and go to Jerry’s party.
2. Get a haircut and go to physical therapy.
3. Get together with friends and hug each other.
Go to every play that opens. So glad I saw Plaza Suite at the Colonial before it couldn’t open on Broadway.
Newtoner: Tango Mango is open for take-out, or at least it was as of yesterday.
No need to deprive yourself of Cabot’s goodness….they are doing takeout!
Now, though, please take every precaution to make sure this, or worse, doesn’t happen to you. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/27/sunday-review/coronavirus-hospitalized.html?smid=em-share. Thank you.
Alex, thanks for the link. It’s a good reminder that anyone, any age, healthy and without extenuating consequences can catch the virus and have it become life threatening.
1. Head over to Nahanton Park one morning and rent a kayak for the day, so that we can finally take our daughter out on the Charles for the first time.
2. Hope for deep enough upstream water to ensure navigability of the Long Ditch. Also hope that downstream, one or more arches of the Needham St./Highland Ave. bridge remain open to mariners during construction.
3. Meet my parents at lunchtime for a shoreline picnic somewhere before Mills Falls, hopefully including Pressed Café’s crossroads vegetarian kebab and butternut squash soup.
1. Eat the 2-slice lunch special at 4 Corners Pizza alongside the crews of the local landscapers.
2. Bike to BSC Newton for a workout on the machines, my route passing over both Newton’s Greenway and Needham’s Riverway.
3. Go to Barry’s for Sunday brunch after playing doubles tennis on Newton Centre’s har-tru courts.
1. Greet Bob Jampol and his tennis buddies and exchange pleasantries at Barry’s at brunch-time on Sunday.
2. Whatever date it’s finally safe to go back in the water or on land…I will celebrate my latest birthday, which is clearly going to be a bummer this year (from COVID-19 seclusion instead of the more usual interference of Passover food restrictions with “echtah” birthday cake), since it is this Monday! Also, I will want to include anyone else who is missing a celebration of any kind during this pestilence. We can raise a mug together at Dunn-Gaherin’s.
3. Figure out some way to clone Jerry Reilly
4. This one is for now…watch “Universal Studios Free Photo Booth Prank” on You-Tube. The one that starts with two young girls wearing bunny ears. Warning: This is falling on the floor FUNNY!
My three:
1. Go to a Trump rally
2. Go out to eat in Watertown
3. Take grand kids to ride dirt bikes in NH
