We are deeply disappointed to pull the plug on the final three week’s performances of No Exit.

For those who saw it over the last two weekends you’ll know what I’m talking about.  This was an amazing production of an often performed classic play.  As one woman said after last Friday’s show.  “I have seen this performed many many times.  I even directed it once.  This was the best performance I have EVER seen”.

We will no doubt be back when the viral dust clears but in the meantime we’d love whatever help we can get.

Performers of all kinds are being hit harder by this situation, harder than nearly any other workers.  Our actors and director rehearsed for six weeks and put together an amazing show. The actors expected five weeks of paychecks once performances began but the play has been shut down after only two weeks.

Likewise our theater has been hit hard.  We are not an organization or an institution – just a few committed individuals.  Each production is self-financed with the money for performance rights, sets, equipment, costumes, and supplies being spent up front with the expectation that it will be recouped over the five weeks we perform.  In this case, that won’t happen.

If you value what the Newton Nomadic Theater does, and if you are in a position to be generous, please consider making a donation here.  The majority of any donations will go to these amazing actors to pay them for there work they have already done, a small fraction will go towards the theater recouping ist losses.

Thanks for the warm and generous support of our Newton audience through these past years … and be well.
