I know we have a special interest in the two Newtonian candidates for the 4th Congressional District seat, but I’d encourage people to also check out someone from our neighboring town of Brookline, Jesse Mermell. I’ve known Jesse for several years, and she is an accomplished, thoughtful, and committed person. Here’s her website.
I love it when we have a bunch of great candidates! These Congressional seats don’t open up very often, and we’ll soon get a chance to meet and hear from them in many local forums. This is a great time for people to open their homes and invite candidates in to meet the neighbors: They will all be hungry for exposure in a crowded field.
@Paul: many thanks for the post. So far I like what I see. She voted on the right side of the ‘millionaire’s tax’, as far as I m concerned. I wonder where the other candidates stand? Very much look forward to hearing.
Thanks, @Pat. A whole set of issues will be splayed out for our review. I’m guessing there won’t be huge distinctions among most of the candidates on many of them; so we’ll also want to get to know people individually to learn about their personal attributes, e.g., willingness to listen, likely ability to build coalitions in Congress, sense of humor, and just plain wisdom.
