The Tour de Newton, the city’s annual large scale bicycle event , has been turned on it’s head . This year it’s the Magical Mystery Tour de Newton. Six different routes all converging on City Hall. Along each route we’re planning all sorts of “mysteries” designed to surprise, delight, astonish and startle the riders. We’ve got some great ones!
One of my favorite totally ridiculous “mysteries” is a zombie army. We are recruiting as many zombies as we can find for this Sunday morning – no experience, costume, or makeup required. Just show up at 9 AM at the corner of Dexter Rd and Bulloughs Park. We’ll put you through a rigorous and comprehensive full two minutes of zombie training and you’ll be ready to join the legions of un-dead. Adults, teenagers, kids all welcome – zombies know no age boundaries.
Every 5 – 10 minutes a new group of riders pedaling down the side of Bulloughs Pond will see a swarm of zombies in the distance lurching across the road and disappearing up a side street.
The only thing better than a zombie army is a bigger zombie army so bring everyone you know.
NOTE: Disheveled and sloppy is always a plus when it comes to zombie attire.
NO SPOILERS: If you know anyone riding in the Tour de Newton please don’t mention the zombie army until after the event. We don’t want you to unwittingly ruin a “mystery”.

I can just imagine the discussion. The Tour organizating committee is meeting and someone comes up with this zombie idea.
“But where are we going to find zombies?”
“Village 14 has lots of zombies,” Jerry replies. “I’ll post something there.”

Be careful Councilor Noel: If you bring together too many zombies someone may accuse you of violating the Open Meeting Law again.
That’s the way it tends to work Brenda. Once one member of a family goes zombie the others are usually right behind, next the neighbors, and in no time at all the whole city are zombies.
Ha! Already checked with Jerry to make sure there will not be a zombie quorum!
Come to think of it, zombies are interested in brains so the anonymous complaint filer need not feel threatened.
