It’s just not right for a sitting incumbent to refuse to engage with his/her challengers. If so, then I think the best course of action is to assume that only those that are appearing in public forums are the only ones actually running for office … and to give those candidates as many forums as possible to make their case.
With that in mind, I’d like to open this thread up to ALL Ward 1 at-large candidates for City Council. Let us know why you’re running, why you believe you’re the best candidate, and what distinguishes you from the other candidates running for the position.
I admire that Jay rose to spending the greater time behind the scenes rallying his colleagues for the 14 of 24 HR downsize legislation. Nice job!
Harry: Are you saying that you know for a fact this is why Councilor Ciccone was unable to take 45 minutes to debate his opponents on Monday night, or did you just make it up?
I’m guessing it’s the second, especially given that this item was docketed during the day and the debate was in the evening.
Either way, I prefer it when candidates speak for themselves.
