This Sunday is the 5th annual Feast of the Falls. It is an event that will boggle your mind. 400 guests will sit at one beautifully appointed 400 foot long table in Hemlock Gorge for a fabulous catered dinner. And you are invited!
The food is always amazing. Chef Christopher Osborn (Better Life Food) and Seana Gaherin (Dunn Gaherins Restaurant) assemble a mobile kitchen in the woods for the day.
A who’s who of Newton and Upper Falls celebrities will be your waiters for the evening including state senator Cynthia Creem, State Rep Ruth Balser, mayoral candidates Ruthanne Fuller, Scott Lennon, Amy Sangiolo, City Councilor Deb Crossley, candidate Andrea Downs, Newton Nomadic Actors Linda Goetz, Matt Winberg, and Sara Morisette, an assortment of Newton Upper Falls Area Councillors, and local business leaders.
Carriage House Violins is providing wonderful musicians to set the mood before dinner and after dinner the guest will be invited to gather around the Upper Falls street piano to sing all sorts of old favorites – we’ll be transporting the piano to the woods for the occasion.
The event is intended as a neighborhood celebration and the bulk of the tickets are reserved for free for Upper Falls residents. Every year though we set aside 20 tickets that anyone can purchase. They cost $40 per person and can be ordered here on a first-come-first-served basis. So if you’re interested, don’t hesitate, you may miss your chance.
I can promise you, you’ve never seen anything like the Feast of the Falls. It is an amazing spectacle. Come join us.

Wondering if the 3 councilor mayoral contenders have RSVPed? – and what if people show, stand, and don’t eat; are they bounced from publik lands?
@Harry Sanders – Yes the contenders have RSVP’ed. Of course anyone is welcome in the park just not at a seat at the dinner table unless they’re a guest. So if you are around on Sunday you can certainly come on down, just bring your own food ;-)
Looks like perfect weather for al fresco dining at the Falls! This public “server” can’t wait for the fun to start! And Harry, if you plan to show, LMK. I’ll pack you a sandwich and watermelon ;-)
@Andreae Downs – That’s some serious constituent service ;-)
Jerry: I dint think it can be constituent service until/if she’s elected. I think the technical term right now would be pandering for votes. ;)
Harsh, Greg. Particularly for a pb&j. (-:
Andreae: I might vote for you for a pb&J….depending, of course, on what Councilors Crossley and Yates are serving.
appreciate the offer, but I am planning a ‘brick & click’ delivery of vegetarian nutrition. Amazon gobbling Whole Foods; CL front end loading ebay energies for private/publik synergies. No time to sleep this election cycle away. Tally-ho Northland.
A chicken in every pot, a PB &J in every hand. You’ve got my vote.
Mmmm – Here’s this year’s menu
‘streamed wild rice’ – never had it, is it cultivated in one of the feeder streams to the Charles..
BTW, how does one go about becoming a service person for the feast; is there a waiting list and training session?
Send me an email. We’d love to have your help in any one of a number of service roles. Training is done on the day, before the event.
@Harry Sanders – yes, upstream in the rice paddies of Dover
