Has anybody else noticed that former Mayor David Cohen has come out of hiding? He spoke at the public hearing on Sanctuary City ordinance last night and he was quoted in the Boston Globe. He also attended a political event for School Committee candidate Kathy Shields recently. He also testified before the Charter Commission last year.
Cohen had been keeping a very low profile since leaving office in 2009. I’m both surprised and pleased to see him offering his perspective, especially to the Boston Globe.
And, I really did wonder if he wants his old job back. I hear it’s going to be available again.
Ok, I only wondered about him running for mayor for about half a second…
Just as many folks this week might be pining for the good old days when we had a “normal” Republican president like George W. Bush, I’m sure there are people who’ve forgotten how special Mayor Cohen was. Here’s a refresher.
You two… Srsly?
Adam: red meat from Gail. Greg’s the usual one to toss out the red meat, but whatever. :)
Me? I just thought it was an early April Fools post and was playing along. But really I’m hoping tomorrow is April Fools Day.
Just Fool’s Day, I’m afraid.
I have spoken with David a couple of times in the past 2 years, undeniably has no intention of once again being a political punching bag. He also stated that the current mayor never sought out his advice; same holds true with Tom Concannon.
I said that I was pleased to see him out and about, and I meant it. This post was meant in fun only, something that we all can use right now.
I know that, Gail. I was just poking fun of a grim day. :)
Grim day indeed.
