The Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center sent the following to its members this morning:

The Leventhal-Sidman JCC received a bomb threat at 9:45 this morning. The call was similar to dozens of others received by JCCs up and down the East Coast last week and today. The Newton Police and Fire Department responded immediately, evacuated and searched the facility, and gave the all-clear within an hour.

We continue to work with local law enforcement, as well as state and federal authorities and security experts as our first concern and priority is for the health and safety of our members, visitors and staff.

Under the guidance of local authorities, all parts of the JCC have re-opened.
