I just received an odd recorded call from Ms. Devaney informing me I had received slanderous messages from unnamed sources highlighting some questionable behavior and bias in her appointments, not unlike a letter sent out very late in her last campaign. Although I’ve read plenty of terrible things about Devaney over the years, I really have no idea what she’s talking about. Does anyone have this information to share?
Devaney robo-call accuses opposition of sending “slanderous” message

??? That’s perplexing.
To date, I rec’d one robo call: from Peter Georgiou last night. It was short, apologized for the use of robo-calling, didn’t mention any other opponent, asked for my vote and supplied a way to contact him directly with any comments/questions. That’s been about it.
I just saw a “Political Advertisement” in the TAB today that Ms. Devaney received the endorsement of Mayor Setti Warren. True?
I got two robocalls this morning – one recorded by Sen. Capuano on Devaney’s behalf, and the one Devaney recorded herself (referencing the “slanderous” remarks from a challenger). My understanding is that Peter Georgiou – who has made a point more than once in debates, and on his website as well, of pointing out the incumbent’s shortcomings – sent two mailers with that sort of messaging to parts of the 3rd district outside of Newton. Bill’s literature has not mentioned the incumbent (no need; he’s running on the strength of what he will bring to the position).
I got the Devaney robocall this morning. Now I’m (almost) sorry I hung up right away and didn’t stick around to be entertained. Also got the Capuano endorsement call, which disappointed me considerably. Again I didn’t listen to much beyond “hello,” though I did briefly wonder if it was current or an old one taken out of mothballs from some past general election. As for whether Mayor Warren endorses her or not, we’ll have to call “Sette” and ask him. He and Devaney were both at the Ward 6 Democratic barbecue on Labor Day, and though I definitely didn’t see them anywhere near each other, I wasn’t there long enough to draw any conclusions.
