On October 2, 2015 NewTV will be holding its first annual Teamwork Trivia Challenge event at the Post 440 in Newton. The event will consist of two hours of trivia, beginning at 7:30pm followed by an after party with a raffle, DJ and dancing until 11:30pm. Guests can arrive starting at 6:30pm to enjoy appetizers and desserts from local restaurants, including Baker’s Best and 3 Squares Needham.
Executive Director Bob Kelly attended a similar event and thought it would be a perfect fit for Newton and Needham. The goal is to enlist various community groups and companies to purchase tables and show their competitive spirit. As of today table sponsors include Belmont Savings Bank, Fattman Productions, the Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce, and Village Bank.
Funds raised from this event will support NewTV’s scholarship and internship programs. Former NewTV interns have gone on to successful careers in their chosen field. Many have attributed some of that success to their time at NewTV. Melissa Toupin Randall, Weekend Anchor for ABC6 News/WLNE-TV in Providence, RI and previous NewTV intern reflected, “I truly don’t know if I’d be where I am in my career today without the experience I had during my semester [at NewTV].”
