ImaginaryInvalid | Newton MA News and Politics BlogThe Newton Theatre Company presents “The Imaginary Invalid” FREE tonight at 7 PM at the Hyde Center in Newton Highlights.  If things dry out by then it will be outside on the bandstand, if not it will be inside the Hyde Center.

This family friendly production combines comedy with song and dance in a brilliant satire of the medical profession.  The script is a modern and hilarious translation of Moliere’s 17th century classic.

It tales the tale of a hypochondriac  father who plots and plans to marry off his daughter to a doctor, to get lifelong medical care – early health insurance.

The rain should be ending by the afternoon. They’re keeping the grass dry for our audience with a tarp! Clear skies predicted for Sunday evening.  Free refreshments. Live entertainment during intermission by The Tripsters. Bring blankets and beach chairs! A fun time will be had by all!

Tonight’s show is part of the Summer in the Highlands series, a summer long series of FREE movies, music, theater at the Hyde Playground every weekend from now through Labor Day.
