Not sure if there is anything to be made of this, but just received the following Newton Police press release forwarded by Alderman James Cote. In case anyone was wondering about police activity near Zervas school this morning:

Writings found on this cardboard box, led the fire department to request assistance from the State Police Bomb Squad. Two Troopers arrived and investigated the package. They concluded that no explosive or any like device was inside. Other than fear and anxiety, no persons or properties were put in danger.

At this time, this incident remains an active investigation by the Newton Police Department. This remains an active investigation and we are asking anyone with information to pleasecontact us at 617 796-2100 or at our Tips-Line at 617 796-2121.
