Thursday evening, the First Unitarian Society in Newton will host a film and conversation about the era of Boston busing and desegregation in the 1970s.   The film, Can We Talk?, was commissioned by the Union of Minority Neighborhoods (UMN) to highlight thought-provoking stories of the busing/desegregation crisis.  UMN’s Boston Busing and Desegregation Project examines the impact of the Brown vs. the Board of Education ruling on the state of public education today.  UMN’s Donna Bivens and Executive Director Horace Small will offer their reflections on this project, show a 20-minute clip of this film, and lead a conversation on the effects of that era on today.  October 10 at 7:30 p.m. at FUSN, 1326 Washington Street, West Newton
