Making good use of a tree stump

In case anyone’s wondering about the tree stumps, which must number in the low hundreds by now, they are going to be ground this spring. (Tree removals requests are basically caught up.) But in the meantime, it’s nice to see someone enjoying their tree stump. I spotted this on Wyoming Road, where we’re doing a Newton Tree Conservancy planting this Saturday. The stones reminded me of how people put stones on gravestones to show they’ve visited. Then I walked over and saw “I love Pearl.” I don’t know who Pearl is, but think it’s a girls name that deserves to be used more!
