This truck has been stuck on my street for more than 2 hours. I saw a DPW dump truck with plow come by, but the poor guy is still jammed in. Another garbage truck finally came down our street, but it lacks the arm, so pickup is slow.

What if a Fire engine or Ambulance needed to get down your street?

Luckily, that’s a side street and there are other access points. However, most streets in my neighborhood are not wide enough for 2 cars, so if there is a car on the street there is little way for an emergency vehicle to get by. It’s actually worse up by the elementary school where the road is barely wide enough for 2 cars. Derby Street between Waltham and Cherry has no tree line, so sidewalks are already narrow. Add in the snow, a group of kids walking to school and parents bringing their kids, plus commuters driving to work, it’s a recipe for disaster.
