The summer concerts and movies (all free) have started again for the summer season at the Hyde Playground in Newton Highlands. This summer features concerts every Friday night through September 5th (with a break on July 4th). The concerts start at 6:00 PM with a movie following at 8:00 PM. The schedule is posted on the Hyde Community Center website.
New this year are the Shakespeare in the Park performances. Come see the New Rep Theater performance of a “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on Sunday July 20th. And on August 10th the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company will present “Much Ado About Nothing”.
Events are rain or shine (with the Hyde gym used for rain).
I’m pumped for the Sunday night series – who doesn’t love Shakespeare in the park?! The New Philharmonia Orchestra will play as part of the Sunday evening series as well. We were thrilled to be invited! Look for that performance on Sunday, July 27. Lots of pops favorites, patriotic tunes, crowd sing-a-longs, and more!
