I just received the following email from City Councilor Chris Markiewicz.  This is an interesting (and unusual?) idea for a City Council Committee meeting – i.e. solicit general public input on the committee’s long term agenda

The Public Safety and Transportation Committee, which is one of the committees I serve on as a city councilor, will hold a public meeting this Wednesday, February 19th at 7 p.m. in the Council Chamber.   This will be an open meeting to solicit  your input for matters related to transportation and safety.   The input we receive will be considered as we form our agenda for the next two years worth of committee work.    The Committee’s scope includes transportation items such as parking, traffic and safety.  We also address items related to the Police and Fire depts.  Of course, we will also be considering items that concern the environment and climate change within the context of transportation.

Here is the docket item.

#105-20                Requesting public comment on priorities for transportation planning
CHAIR OF PUBLIC SAFETY & TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE requests public comment on priorities for transportation planning.

Please come and speak.  You can also send an email with your thoughts to our committee clerk, Danielle Delaney,  ask her to distribute the email to the PS&T committee.  Her email is [email protected].    Thank you, we look forward to your input.
