Firefighters from Newton, across the state, across the nation and across the world will gather in Boston and Watertown over the next two days to honor Boston fire fighters Edward J. Walsh Jr. and Michael R. Kennedy. Of course, this comes just days after a suspect reportedly attempted to run over a police officer in Newton and shortly before before the first anniversary of last year’s Boston Marathon attacks and the events that followed.
Feel free to use the comment section here to thank all of our first responders for all they do for us.
Dear First Responders:
Who are heroes? You, who shield us from the harms that the world provides. You, who hold our hands when we are ill or frightened. You, who enforce the social contract. You, who put out fires.
Thank you for making our lives a whole lot safer by putting your lives on the line for us. There is a special door to heaven for you where the entryway says: RESPECTED and LOVED.
Thank you from all of us for what you do every day.
Thank you first repdonders, from the bottom of my heart.
