I don’t know this for sure but isn’t Setti falling short of contribution goals as well?
With Ted, I wonder if this is a matter of going after an aggressive number? Or is it because he is in 2 races? For me, it’s my opposition to his pet project of affordable housing in Newton. I agree with Ted in so many other areas but I feel like he has blinders on when it comes to affordable housing and it’s impact on our infrastructure and population.
@Kim:
Warren hasn’t released any numbers and declined to discuss fundraising in the Globe story yesterday. But I suspect the campaign finance reports will show the Warren campaign does very well.
Hess-Mahan likely announced the $10K goal because it’s what he thought he needed, or thought he could get, or both. If this was a higher profile contest there would be a front or Metro page story in the Globe suggesting that his campaign is in trouble because he didn’t get what he must have thought he needed, or thought he could get, or both.
But as the Globe story also reported yesterday, so far this has been a pretty sleepy campaign.
This Mayor’s race needs to be about TRUST. Do you trust Setti Warren will stand by his stated commitments? (Does he avoid making commitments so his trustworthiness doesn’t have to be tested?)
Hess-Mahan is undoubtedly more liberal than me on most issues, but his positions and opinions are made with conviction and he sticks to them (even publicly 😀 ).
Janet, Adolph Hitler stuck to his positions with conviction. I wouldn’t have voted for him. I don’t mean to say that Ted is like him. I mean that the argument that you should vote for someone who sticks to his positions is specious, if you don’t like his positions. It only means you know for sure what you’re voting against.
