If you hate long lines, Newton’s polling places are the place to be Thursday. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the Massachusetts Democratic and Republican primaries.
As usual those of us who are registered as “unenrolled” voters have the opportunity to choose which, um, “hotly contested” primary to vote in.
Here’s your chance to make a pitch for your candidate(s) of choice. And come back after you vote and share you polling place observations.
Heck there’s not even any crowd waiting to comment on this thread!
Too busy listening to robocalls. Charlie, Cheryl Lappin, …
Bill Weld called me! (for Elizabeth Childs) Did they even have robocalls when Weld was governor?
No Primary Day thread? I was #96 at 3/3 at 11:25. There was one Harry Margolis signholder when I arrived. He was taking a break I guess when I came out. No others, but I did see Elizabeth Warren signholders standing over the Pike during rush hour.
I was #94 at 5/2 at the Hyde Center 11:40.
Tom Concannon was standing outside, hoping to greet voters. I also saw Herb Robinson when I was driving by.
There were two (!) signholders for Harry Margolis, one for Joe Kennedy and, surprisingly, none for Charlie Shapiro, who of course use to be a Ward 6 At-Large Alderman, and one Ward 6 precinct also votes at the Hyde.
#99 at 5/3 (Zervas), 11:10 a.m. I went in the front door rather than the side where signholders usually are, so I saw nothing but non-voting, non-sign-holding 8 year olds.
#132 at Ward 8/Precinct 3 at 12:30
#42 at Hyde in 6/3 at 8ish. Took a while at the polls since I thought it would be nice to talk to the lone sign holder (for Joe Kennedy).
Apparently Joe Kennedy made a stop at the Hyde Center earlier today and (if this Jim Walker photo on Wicked Local is to be believed) JKIII got into a shoving match with Mayor Warren while Alderman Harney, Bob Burke and others pretended not to notice.
