After months of hiding the identity of the start-up he heads, Sean Bielat revealed his employer’s name to WBUR. It’s called OneClickPolitics
Now, there’s this from the Globe…
Aaron D’Elia, [Elizabeth] Childs’s campaign manager , said it was great that Bielat revealed the name of his employer, and he hopes he will disclose its investors.
“What was the big deal?” he said. “It’s pretty much standard operating procedure to disclose who’s paying your paycheck.”
Do you think Bielat needs to divulge the names of his investors too?
The site was established on Go Daddy Feb 2009 and is still beta. How much investor funds is he talking about? $95?
I have to agree with Hoss here. It’s also a pretty simple form with a database on the backend. There doesn’t seem to be anything really innovative. If anything, I wonder if he held it back because it’s embarrassing. There is some great work coming out of the mind at MassChallenge or highlighted by the Nieman Foundation.
Also, the Globe called him a “chief executive” but his own LinkedIn profile calls him a “consulting CEO.” I still don’t know what that means.
I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but this whole thing still feels like a way to funnel him money when he’s between elections than an actual job.
Clearly the inference here is the site is a front for financial support. If that’s the case, he should be looking to be speaker of the MA house. What was he thinking?
Sean Bielat, “Man of Mystery,” reveals all. Basically, he runs a 3 person operation. I suppose calling himself a “consulting CEO” makes it sound a lot more important. It is hard to believe he made a fuss about this. But it raises questions in my mind about puffing up one’s resume a little.
For once, I’m with Hoss. This boils down to how many VC “angels” can dance on the head of a tiny little internet startup that one of my kids could have designed. They obtained publicly available information about emails of everyone in Congress and put them on an internet platform that allows people to spam Congress. Then they seek out political action committees who want to astroturf Washington, DC. Brilliant.
Ted, I’m flattered. Do your kids have a company that I can help fund?
@Hoss, no, but I have a startup college fund you could contribute to.
Ted, Too obvious. With some lawyer help, I can set up a scholarship fund. Does your office do this type of work? (Ok, let’s leave that alone…I mean really…this type of thing is probably not something we should joke about)
What I’d like to know is how much the Kennedys are paying Child’s to run.
Anyone who has worked for a start-up or started a website knows you don’t reveal until it’s ready to go. Given the far left wing progressive lunatics that live and write in MA, it’s hard not to blame Bielat for wanting to keep his site out of the limelight.
Methinks the posters here are jealous of Beilat’s startup. ‘Course he couldn’t have done it himself. He probably had a lot of help from his BA from Georgetown, MBA for the Wharton School and his Masters from Harvard, and lets not forget Al Gore who invented the internet. Without Al, no one here would be able to express their views.
But I suspect Sean got a lot of business experience at iRobot heading up the huge program to make remote controlled devices that took out roadside bombs.
Joe’s experience? An assistant DA. Sir, do you want cream with that coffee? But he’s a Kennedy and he’ll be a good Soros pocket puppet and listen well to his union bosses. He doesn’t need any experience, just a lot of Kennedy family and crony money.
It would be great to have middle class citizen legislator with experience in the military, in a range of businesses and also in raising and supporting a family. Having to meet payroll for a small business and feeding his children should be a must have experience for any would be congressman. Living off family wealth does not allow one to connect with the people he would like to represent.
Delia is knows this pure nonsense. The information about the investors is readily available on the House Ethics Disclosure Form that has to be filed any candidate intending to raise or spend more than $5,000.
He’s probably already got the information and knows there is nothing of interest.
He’s simply trying to make up a transparency issue where there is none.
And interestingly enough just as the Childs campaign brings up this subject, Howdy Doody Kennedy starts tweeting about transparency.
Add to that, when it was exposed that Childs was having a fundraiser in the Newton Home of Obama grassroots organizers, the Childs campaign staff enlisted Joe Kennedy and the Chair of the MA- Democrat State Committee, and it is becoming abundantly clear that the Childs Campaign is colluding with the Democrats. Whether or not she decided to run as a Republican in order to block or beat up Bielat for them has yet to be determined. But given her Moon-Bat positions, I wouldn’t be surprised.
I was expecting the Bielat team to respond with a campaign statement on their site. Instead there is only a statement about Bulgaria from days ago. Bulgeria is only in Newton’s district when our Alderman want it to be. So can these campaigners address specifics? Or at least run for Newton Alderman instead?
If you all might run for alderman — note that the current Newton line of thought is for pot, against leaf blowing, for Sal DiMasi, against swimming, for neighborhood business, against banking, for free speech, against anonymous web dialog, for the constitution, against the supreme court’s view of it, for resume fluff, against resume fluff, for congressmen marrying outside their age era, doubly for it if their a Kennedy or gay…for honesty in gov’t, for Joe Denicci, for business again, against business sponsoring a school staircase, …. ARE YOU BIELET FANS UP FOR THIS???
