It was pretty easy to use in Newton Centre, which was good as I had no change the other day.
Nope, because it’s not available for Windows phones.
I used it in Newton Centre and it worked perfectly. I already have the Boston parking app so it used my data from that to tie into my credit card – fantastic.
I was going to but was put off by the 15¢ “convenience fee” on a 50¢ parking fee. I just used two quarters instead.
@mgwa, can’t you just use a browser on your phone and visit ppprk.com?
@adam – didn’t occur to me!
Used it today in West Newton. Loved it. Took me less time to enter the zone and space number than to hunt around for quarters on the floor of my car.
mgwa, there is also an Android app on Google Play.
I love it. I don’t mind paying a little more for the convenience of not having to fish for quarters. I also like having a countdown of how much time I have left on the meter.
Has anyone tried adding additional time to a meter after you’ve already paid to park? Assuming that works, that’s another helpful feature. I often overpay at meters “just in case” I need more time, but I’m less likely to do that with the app.
Lorianne, you can add time with the app if need be. NB You are still subject to the maximum time limit, so if you exceed it, i.e., “feed the meter,” you may still get a ticket.
Just parked in Newtonville. I have the app. I see the zone number…but there’s no space number and the app requires it. I don’t see a meter either, for that matter. I’m doing free parking, I guess.
Ari, you can report it to the city by calling 311 or going to the 311 webpage.
@Ted – an Android app won’t help someone with a Windows phone.
Hmm. I checked the company website and there is no app for Windows or Blackberrys. You might want to contact the company to see if there is another way to use a Passport account to pay parking meter fees. The webpage to contact the company is at https://passportinc.com/contact.
mgwa, you can log in using a mobile web browser. Go to https://passportinc.com/consumers to log in.
