Mayor Setti Warren is inviting the public to a free reception on Sunday, December 20, from 1pm – 2 pm on the second floor of Newton City Hall to celebrate the diversity and inclusiveness of our community, including our immigrant and refugee population. The event is co-sponsored by the Newton Interfaith Clergy Association and the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA)
Mayor Warren hopes to bring everyone together – people of all ages, religions, races, ethnicities, disabilities, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, born in the United States or elsewhere. There will be a short speaking program including some facts about U.S. policies on refugees and immigrants, light refreshments, and fellowship.
WHO: Those joining Mayor Setti Warren for the speaking program include: religious leaders, officials and advocates who work with immigrants and refugees, a refugee, and representatives from Newton Public Schools and Newton Police
