Answering the call from a concerned neighbor about a possible hoarder, the city’s Inspectional Services Department paid a visit to a Nonantum home that was filled with disposable plastic shopping bags.

“There really wasn’t a room in the place that wasn’t stuffed with them,” Commissioner John Lojek says. “Even the back yard (in photo) was filled with them.”

The homeowner Alison Leary insists that she’s not  a hoarder but has been collecting bags to help fund her children’s college educations by selling them to dog owners following the implementation of the city’s plastic bag ban.
