After almost 25 years, Annabelle Ship (seen in photo here with two random customers) has sold her legendary Newton Highlands store Green Planet Kids.
“I sold the business because it was doing well and I wanted to move on while I still had energy to do something else,” Ship told me via email. “I did very well on the sale and I have no regrets at all. Now I’ll have the time to pursue one of my other business ideas – not sure which one yet, but I’m sure that will become clear in the next few months.”
” The new owner, Steve Zeltzer is a great guy,” she added. “He has a lot of varied business experience, and I’m going to offer him as much help as he needs to ensure that Green Planet Kids continues to be a great success.”
Congratulations and best of luck to both Annabelle and Steve, whom I just had the pleasure of meeting yesterday. Looking forward to a continued nearby last minute birthday gift shopping option.
I spent a little time with Steve last week, and he’s a great addition to the neighborhood. We’re really going to miss Annabelle and all she did for the community, but Steve already has great ideas of his own, and we’re looking forward to many years of having him in the Highlands.
Best of luck to Annabelle!
She was a force in the Highlands and her store was a go-to resource for everyone.
Green Planet was also a terrific work experience for many young Newtonites-my daughter included. Thank you Annabelle!
Good luck Steve.
Wishing Annabelle the very best. Steven has some big shoes to fill. I can’t wait. The Green Planet Kids is a staple!
