We lost one of our own this weekend. Paul Berg was a friend and colleague. He defended our first amendment rights with vigor. Paul was an active supporter of the Alliance for Community Media and MassAccess. His fingerprints can be found all over our day to day operations with policies, rules and procedures, forms, contracts, and the role of a board. His email signature always contained “Keep it Local”. He brought a clear vision to the upstart of NewTV back in the early 1990’s. For the 14 years he held the position of Executive Director at NewTV he made friends all across Newton. We will remember him for his wit and for his willingness to fight for those less fortunate.
Services are being handled by Miles Funeral Home in Holden, MA.

This is a real loss. I liked Paul, he was a good man. When I first started Veracity, he was the general manager and I got to know him and he appreciate his work. R.I.P. Paul Berg. You were way too young.
This is tragic, I knew Paul and agree, he seemed decent and fair, with a true public service attitude. From what I could see he operated NewTV conservatively (a good thing i.e., with fiscal prudence, always keeping a close eye on expenses).
