I don’t believe former Newton Alderman Charlie Shapiro has officially announced yet that he plans to run again for Governor’s Council, but I noticed yesterday that he just renamed his Twitter account (and updated his website) confirming that he will candidate again this fall.
I am still disappointed that Charlie is no longer one of my Ward 6 Alderman. He was everywhere and listened to all comments. Often told me that he did not agree with what I wanted but I know he heard me. I will support him for any race he enters.
Same here Groot. I think he’s got a real shot this time around since the opponent from Brookline he split the vote with last time, isn’t running. One thing I do know. If Charlie makes it, he will keep us thoroughly informed about what he and the Governor’s Council are doing. Charlie is a great communicator and a guy of action. If he promises to do something, he will.
Thanks Greg for the posting and to Groot and Bob for the kind words. Official announcement will be in a few weeks, and yes… Greg is correct. I’m in. The primary is Sept 9th.
It’s a huge district (32 cities and towns) and all help is greatly appreciated.
Some of the reasons it’s so important to improve the Governor’s Council are mentioned on http://www.facebook.com/voteshapiro.
Best wishes to all for a safe, happy, and productive 2014.
