Developer BH Normandy will present its new Riverside MBTA Station development proposal to the public on Tuesday June 26 at 7 p.m. in the Aldermanic Chambers of Newton City Hall.
This is from the project description recently posted on the city’s website
The Station at Riverside is envisioned as a 588,000 square foot, transit-oriented mixed use development with 290 residential units, a 225,000 square foot office building, 20,000 square feet of convenience retail, and an 8,000 square foot community space. The residential units are situated in a five-story building on Grove Street which would also include 5,000 square feet of retail. The remaining retail and community space is located in a two-story building on Grove Street. The ten-story office building is adjacent to Route 95.
There are many other documents and drawings here.
Tuesday’s presentation will also include a traffic analysis by the Normandy design team. The public will be invited to ask questions but, of course this is 2012, so you can comment here on Newton’s one and only 14th village.
Patch has a summary of the project and Tuesday’s meeting.
And there’s more on the Riverside Station Neighborhood Coalition’s site.
As Chairman of the Land Use Committee, I am constrained from commenting on the project. I would, however, encourage everyone to check out the Planning Department’s comprehensive cache of documents on the Station at Riverside project.
You can’t even say something like “Come on down! We’re located on the
Auto MileSecond Floor”?@Greg, yes, do drop in at the Aldermanic Chamber in Newton City Hall on Tuesday, June 26 at 7PM. NewTV has graciously agreed to simulcast the meeting in Rooms 202 and 222 adjacent to the Chamber, which are reserved for overflow capacity.
I have already heard from folks interested in linking the Station at Riverside to Newton Lower Falls via the railway bridge over Route 128/95. I encourage anyone who is interested, whether they can attend tomorrow night or not, to submit their questions and comments to the Planning Department at [email protected]. Questions and comments received on or before July 10 will be consolidated into a report including responses and analysis from the developer, the traffic peer reviewer and the planning department.
