With 9 precincts reporting, the mayor is leading with 1147 votes followed with Alderman Hess-Mahan with 299. That’s a huge spread.
Just to prove what an election junkie I am, I’ll toss out this information that I just calculated as I’m awaiting results:
With 14 precincts reporting, I counted 2,683 votes (assuming everyone voted for mayor, which may not be the case).
Interesting that the “2nd tier” candidates got at least 400 signatures to get on the ballot, yet neither go 400 votes. How much did that cost the city to run a preliminary in the 7 wards that did not have contested alderman or school committee races?
The turnout was 11% (based on Gails 55,400 registered voters number).
Two knuckleheads voted for more then one.
