This is one of a series of mostly political drawings that caught my eye on exhibit at the Newton Free Library. I was delighted (and ultimately not surprised) to learn they were drawn by my friend architect, urbanist, community activist, would-be developer, frequent TAB column writer, truth speaker to power, bomb (metaphorical) thrower, and general gadfly Anatol Zukerman.
Nobody who knows Anatol will be surprised by his works: beautifully drawn, polemical, populist, and deeply anti-authoritarian. Go check them out.
And if you miss him at the library I just booked him for the Stroll on Sunday! He’ll be in the First Baptist Church gallery space.
…and then he’s off to do a week at the Sands.
Wow. I will definitely stop by. Tough to see from this picture but it looks amazing.
Yeah, the photo is not exactly museum quality. Think of its amateurishness as a tease to see the pictures in person: just good enough to show you there’s something worth checking out.
This is a great show by a fascinating man.
So disappointed to have missed it. They took it down today. And now, so thrilled to see it’s going to tour. Thanks for posting Kara.
