| Newton MA News and Politics BlogYou’re hearing this news here first, folks:

Showing excellent judgment and keen insight, the Board of Directors of the Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce has hired Greg Reibman as its new president. Reibman, formerly a publisher and editor-in-chief, and VP of content development and partnerships at GateHouse Media New England, will succeed Bob Halpin, who is leaving this week to become town manager in Framingham.

Of course, here at Village 14, we all know Greg as blogger extraordinaire with a sharp wit and a strong passion for Newton. As someone who worked with him for many years, I can attest to the intelligence of this decision by the chamber. Because Needham was one of the towns in his publishing group, Greg knows Needham almost as well as he knows Newton. He has a great business mind and he’s incredibly creative. Business owners and city leaders should expect to see some exciting ideas coming out of the Chamber of Commerce.
